Friends, this is the ROG Phone 6 Pro, it's totally futuristic with the box.
It's like a treasure hunt. First you get the ROG brand 65W charger - Type C. And it has a type C to C braided cable of good quality. There's a card "For Those Who Dare" & nothing else in here. Let's check the other box, look at this phone! Ok we'll talk about the phone. Is there something else? There's a SIM card tool, documentation & look at that case! There's a cut here, one here too meaning there's some display obviously. Let's keep the box aside & take a look at the phone. I'm super excited! Wow! Just look at the phone! OMG I have the ROG Phone 3, the ROG Phone 5, this is the 5s & this here is the ROG Phone 6 Pro! There is not much difference in size while the rig Phone 5 looked tall & narrow. But the other looks short or maybe the same, I'm not sure. The case will look epic when I put it on & turn on the phone. The display might light up. The case fits snuggly & the phone's looks gives you a complete gaming vibe. It feels good in the hand, it's big obviously because of the big battery & a big screen. Let's do a drop test & see! The case has fit very snuggly & it's a good quality case.
It's finally out! It comes with GG Victus on the front so it shouldn't be a problem. I know the viewers must be wondering a lot. No, nothing happened. It's very well built! Its frame is metal, there's glass on the front & back. You also get 2 displays which I'll show soon. Ports & Buttons - There's a 3.5mm jack below, USB Type C which is slightly on the side. On the right, you get the power on/off button, there's a volume rocker up/down. Above there's a noise cancelling microphone & on the right, there's a USB Type C on the centre. And below you also get a SIM card tray in blue accents. It's not visible but you get gaming triggers on the left & right & they're multifunctional as well! If I compare the ports & buttons with ROG Phone 5/5s, the pogo pins have disappeared. But there's a new aero cooler. It's a cooler, not a fan! I'll show it to you. Those who game on the phone, it's a blessing for them! Look at it! It has 4 tactile buttons, triggers on top & you can unlock/lock it accordingly. I can actually use 8 fingers. So you can use 8 fingers at the same time! Wow! This is crazy! And Nikhil's laughing at the back. He's a gamer. This has RGB too. Wait for it! Now, let's start the phone & check its colours out. Hohoho! This is the lock screen! It seems as if I've already started playing games! Wow! Look at that display! It's a 6.78" FHD+ 165Hz AMOLED display. And it supports HDR10+, supports 111% DCI-P3 colour gamut. It's everything that you'd want. It has a 720Hz touch sampling rate! And 1200nits of brightness.
The 165Hz is a dream display for gamers. Specifications - It's the 1st phone in our studio to have SD 8+Gen1 SoC. We tested it before starting & compared to SD 8Gen1, it's a big leap forward! It's very ahead in terms of thermals, sustained performance etc compared to the SD 8Gen1. So there are 2 phones - ROG Phone 6 & 6 Pro. We have the ROG Phone 6 Pro & it has 18GB RAM & 512GB storage. The ROG Phone 6 has a 12GB+256GB variant. There's a big 6000mAh battery on this gaming phone for long sessions. And it also supports 65W charging but when you buy it, you'll get a 30W charger. But you can buy a power delivery charge, which will give out 65W charging. It goes from 0-100% in about 42 minutes with the 65W. We haven't weighed the phone yet, it should be heavy considering the 6000mAh battery. I think it should be around 230g. Oh, it's 240g! 239.3g. That's heavy. I'm going to talk about these displays later, wait for it. Performance - This is the most powerful Android phone. I won't compare it with the iPhone. It gets a 1.1M Antutu score. You can play all games on the highest settings, whether it's Apex Legends, CODM, etc. And even if you play for 2-3 hours, it'll work like a charm!
It's stability score is the highest at 85%, the 2nd best is at 78% I want to talk about 2-3 specifically related to gaming. Their Game Genie/Dashboard is prompted from the bottom, which used to pop from the sides. And it's a personal preference. Some would like it from the bottom, I personally prefer the sides. The game triggers are multifunctional & you can assign different functions accordingly. In fact you can even use motion & gyro to reload guns etc. We noticed that the frame gets warm while playing games. Since it's metal, the heat dissipates. So use a case while playing games. We ran the 3D Mark Stress Test & it performed great! I should talk about the cooler. It's not just a fan. It uses a peltier effect to keep the surface cool. And generally smartphones have a SoCs on top, but this has it at the centre. And so the cooling effect is more & you get the X Mode as well 3 cooling modes. I know you're waiting to watch the RGB & I'll show it to you now! You can customise the RGB effect in the armory crate! And this air cooler can also be used as a stand for multimedia. Everyone will notice that triggers around you. OS UI - It comes with an ROG UI that's based on Android 12. We asked them about the updates, & you'll get 2 years of OS updates & 2 years of security updates. Having Android 12, it comes with Material UI & it's very close to Pixel UI. But you can customise it a lot. eg) Double tap for screenshot
And the most impressive thing is its haptic feedback. You can also customise the gaming triggers to take screenshots or assign different functions. So there are many button shortcuts. And many gamers are looking forward to buy this phone. You can record & stream an FHD 120FPS display gameplay. Multimedia - Let me show you its audio as it's impressive! There's an outdoor mode where it gets very loud & the quality is good too. It seems as if you're listening on a speaker because it has magnet speakers & are symmetrically balanced. And it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. So it's one of the best for multimedia & gaming. Surprisingly, it doesn't have HDR on Netflix. Or it may not be listed. Camera - ROG Phones aren't known for their cameras. But this primary sensor is a 50MP Sony IMX 766 sensor which clicks decent photos. The secondary UW sensor is 13MP & there's a 5MP macro sensor. On the front you get a 12MP selfie sensor. The photos are provided in the GDrive link in the description. Nothing much to talk about as they aren't bad nor good. They're decent as it's a gaming phone. Other Features - You get all sensors including an in-display fingerprint sensor & face unlock. Connectivity - You get top of the line connective options including 5G. You get IPX4 rating. It's a gaming phone with lots of ports & buttons. Let me show you the secondary OLED display. You can customise it through the armory crate, like text or colour etc. This display is only available on the ROG Phone 6 Pro. You just get LEDs on ROG Phone 6.And this small "Dare To Play" button can change its colours with a button.
Price - Generally, ROG Phones cost around Rs 50k, but SD8+Gen1 phones are going to be super expensive. And this isn't going to be any different as it might be around Rs 70-75k(ROG Phone 6). The Pro would cost you more. And that's ROG Phone 6 & 6 Pro. COMMENT your questions below. We might make an FAQ video soon. Hit LIKE if you enjoyed the video.
